One Monday at the end of May 2006 a very secret South Coast wave-sailing spot came good and ended the quest of a local watersports shop manager.
| Ever since his early youth Dom Yule, manager of The Waterboard in Poole, had been taken to this enchanted spot by his folks to hunt for fossils and rare wildlife... little did he know that in the years to come the place would become his mecca for UK windsurfing in the waves. Living out of the area and after several failed attempts to catch the location really firing on all four cylinders Dom was resigning himself to the fact that he really might never catch it as good as he'd been told it could get - he'd seen pictures of the place going off but never with his own eyes. To better his chances he decided to move down to the area and work alongside his friends and fellow watermen Jordan and Pete at the shop. |

Finally the forecast came, the weather was looking like it might play ball - the wind had been blowing at a good strength for a few days and the swell building. The guys headed to the remote beach and saw that the conditions were looking every bit as good as expected - over the moon they lauched and headed up to where the waves were breaking on the reef at the edge of the bay.
The waves looked big from a distance but as the guys closed in on the break it was far bigger than they could have hoped for. With butterflies of excitement and anticipation fluttering in their stomachs the boys started catching waves - way bigger and with a better shape than any wave they'd ridden in the country before the session was classic, classic, classic. They had the place to themselves for a while and were then joined by some of the local guys who afterwards admitted it was one of the best days any of them had seen at the place.
The drive home afterwards was pretty mellow - a few words shared and one long smile. Mission completed - fingers crossed for the next epic session!
