The 2007 Cabrinha Switchblade 2 is the fifth kite in the series of bow kites from Cabrinha and is unmatched by any other manufacturer. The Cabrinha Switchblade 2 uses the exact same technology as the Crossbow which has made a profound change in the performance and security of the sport. The Switchblade 2 is designed for those who have been unsure whether or not to change to Bow kites and wanted more of the feel of a C kite, the Switchblade 2 has filled the gap, and gives you bow kite levels of power, depower and security but with the feel of a C kite, and similar jumping characteristics, although on your first jumps, you will not get the height of a C kite, until you are dialled into it - all it takes is about 5 jumps, and get ready for increased hang time and freeride ability.
Switchblade as a light wind kite?
The Switchblade 2 should not outperform the Contra in the 14 and 16 sizes. While the SB2 is a very fast flying kite, the turning speed will be a little slower than the Contra in the 14m -16m sizes due to the lack of pulleys in the control system. So in terms of overall light wind performance we believe the Contra still has the edge.
Who needs this kite?
The Switchblade 2 is targeted at the same type of customer that bought the SB1. It is user friendly, easy to ride, with great depowering capabilities and a simple no-pulley control system. Freeriding, stability, easy relaunching [better than Crossbow], depowering....... all of the things that are the cornerstone of the original Switchblade 1 are very well intact.
The added benefit is that because this kite is with a pulley-less bar, and the fact that it flies forward when unhooked, it will also appeal to many wake style or progressive freestyle riders as well. This is the same situation Cabrinha had with the old Co2. The Co2 was made for intermediate freeriding but it also appealed to the wake stylers.

Override 2
The Override™ security system introduced the concept of Depower on Demand. With Override™ 2 Cabrinha have once again redefined it. Override’s Depower on Demand is as simple as it gets. Simply push the control bar into the Override mode and the kite will immediately depower and begin to drop from the sky. You can avoid many accidents before they happen by maintaining control of the power of your kite at all times. Now with Override™ 2 this often imitated concept has gone one better. Cabrinha have added a new user adjustable Override stopper unit. Unlike the competition, you, the rider can now choose the release load of the Override stopper unit. A new integrated tension ring can be adjusted for either a lighter or more positive release load depending on your skill level or riding preference.
SPRINT System
It’s ease of use is greatly enhanced with the addition of Cabrinha's Sprint™ rapid inflation system. Sprint is our new single point rapid inflation system that will get you off of the beach in record time. Because after all its all about less time rigging and more time riding. Sprint properly inflates your kite to the desired pressure by delivering a uniform amount of air to each strut equally, from a single inflation point. You will ride with confidence knowing that you kite is perfectly balanced each time you inflate it.
Powerdrive 121 Control System
The Powerdrive 121 control system features a host of refinements designed to increase performance and decrease clutter. The Powerdrive 121 implements Cabrinha's impressive Override™ 2 stopper unit which provides a user definable depower on demand. Additionlly the power adjusters have been integrated into the Override™ unit- which keeps them aligned with the depower line, reducing the chances of tangling. The Powerdrive 121 control system features a new reduced diameter bar with softer, embossed EVA grip end to end. It has a smooth stainless centre section for improved durability where the QR meets the bar. It integrates a stainless steel swivel into the top of the harness loop. And it now comes complete with Cabrinha's Bypass leash.

Wind Range
This wind range chart is only to be used as a point of reference. It is based upon a rider who is approximately 75 kg. Actual use may vary based on your body weight, ability level, water conditions, board size , and riding style. When choosing a kite size, please use your personal experience, common sense, and always check what other riders are using on the water for a size reference.

The Cabrinha Impact Seat kitesurfing Harness
The Cabrinha Impact Seat Harness is developed to address the unique forces of kiteboarding. The harness has a low hook height which is held firmly in place with a double buckle hook attachment and is kept from riding up by a pair of padded leg straps.
The stainless steel hook has a positive radius to keep the rider firmly hooked in during tweaked maneuvers. The Cabrinha Impact seat harness is constructed with durable nylon and neoprene materials, in addition to reinforced webbing at the seams ensuring that this harness is built to last!!
